How much does it cost to post a rental listing on hotrent.ca?
It depends on how many postings you wish to list. The cost for a single listing is 10 hotRENT Credits, or $10. You can also buy multiple listing credits at a discounted price if you have multiple rental units or will be likely to add more listings in the future. Listing credits can be used at any time and never expire. See a price list for multiple listings here
 
What forms of payment do you accept?
To ensure security and privacy, we accept payment through PayPal. All you need is a bank account or a major credit card. What is PayPal?
 
How long is my listing displayed on hotrent.ca?
Each listing will remain on hotrent.ca for sixty days or until you choose to deactivate it or remove it, whichever occurs first.

What happens when the listing expires after sixty days?
After sixty days of exposure, all listings will be removed from hotRENT.ca. The listings, however, will remain in your account and it's quick and easy to renew a listing. Simply go to My Account >> Manage Listings >> View. Find the listing you wish to renew and click the ACTIVATE button. It will be reactivated immediately for the cost of a regular listing.

What do I do once my unit is rented?
Once you have rented your unit and want to eliminate further inquiries, you will want to either remove or deactivate your listing. This is done at My Account >> Manage Listings >> View.
 
What is the difference between Removing a listing and Deactivating a listing?
When you remove a listing, it will be removed permanently from your account. Although the same rental unit may be added again at a later date, you will have to add it as though it is a new listing. When you deactivate a listing, it will remain in your account but will no longer be visible to tenants. All unit information will remain in your account, making it easier to relist the unit in the future. If you have a unit that you will be renting out in the future, we recommend that you merely deactivate the listing.
 
How do I edit or update a listing?
Simply go to My Account >> Manage Listings >> View. From here you may edit, remove, activate, deactivate or renew any existing listing. You may also edit, add or remove photos and video.

How do I renew a listing?
My Account >> Manage Listings >> View >> Activate.
 
How do I upload photos of my listing?
Photos can be uploaded when you first add a listing. If you wish to upload additional photos to an existing listing or edit existing photos, simply go to My Account >> Manage Listings >> View Listings. You can have up to eight photos per listing.

How do I promote my company with hotRENT.ca?
If you are a landlord or rental property management company and you have listings on hotRENT.ca, you may increase the exposure of your listings by going to My Account >>  Edit Profile. hotRENT.ca will allow you to add your company name,  your logo, a description of your company and a URL to your company's website free of charge. This will allow potential tenants to view all of the listings your company has to offer by clicking on your logo.

How do I search for a rental property?
Simply type a city in the search box. All rental listings for that city will appear.

How do I narrow my search?
Once the listings for a given city appear, you may narrow your search on the right hand side of the Search page. You may select as many or as few narrowing features as you wish. The more you choose, the more relevant your search will be.

You may also select the Advanced Search option from the hotRENT.ca home page

How do I contact landlords?
You can either phone or send a private message to landlords. Contact information is provided with all listings.

My question has not been answered. What can I do?
